I recently attended a living food demonstration at a local nutrition store. I have been doing Green Smoothies for some time now. So, I can attest to the many benefits. The Living Foods Demonstration was held by Rene Oswald, RN, APHN. The demonstration was very informative and inspiring for all those who attended. If your in the West Palm Beach area, these lecture/demonstrations are usually held every Tuesday evening at Nutrition S’mart. To make green smoothies, combine 2 cups of water and greens in a high speed blender and blend on medium high until well chopped. Then, add 1-3 fruits and blend on medium high for about 15 seconds until liquified. If you prefer a pudding like texture, to eat with a spoon, omit the water in the recipe. It is important to chew your food for best digestion, even when they are in liquid form.
Enjoy! Smoothies stay fresh for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
